Latest cars crash tested by Euro NCAP

CRASH TEST results have been announced by the European vehicle safety body Euro NCAP, after testing of the latest new cars to reach the market. Amongst the vehicles tested were the Mercedes-Benz CLA, the Jeep Cherokee, the Peugeot 2008 and the Suzuki SX4. Despite varying on cost and size, all four of the vehicles tested scored the maximum five star overall rating.

Hyundai has released this sketch of the Arnejs (ar-nez), a new hatchback that will represent the Korean firm in the busy European C-segment. The Arnejs is sister to the Kia C'eed, and will be on the road by Summer 2007 following its production preview at the Paris Motor Show.  The C'eed itself will be shown in production form nearby, ready for Fall sales this year. Expect engines to be shared between the two.

Alfa Romeo 8C, Maserati Quattroporte and GranTurismo recalled

Owners of 2005-2008 Maserati Quattroportes, 2008 GranTurismos, and the 2008 Alfa Romeo 8C should expect to hear from dealers soon as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued a recall this past week. The recall is for tie-rod ends that have insufficient corrosion protection, which then leads to rust and weakening of the units. This unit could fail completely, causing the driver of the vehicle to lose control.
